Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it important to choose a Certified Interior Decorator?
Certified Interior Decorators are set apart as proven trained professionals with earned
credentials in the Interior Decorating field. They must be certified by Certified Interior
Decorators International (www.CIDInternational.org) which is recognized as a professional
trade association listed in Interior Design Magazine. What this means to our clients is that
when they hire us, they are the beneficiary of a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
What is the design process?
In a nutshell- Upon initial contact we will gather as much information as possible about
your needs and desires for the space. We then come out to your home to see the space in person, listen to your ideas and make recommendations.
When you decide to move forward we will measure the space and return about a week later
with a presentation that includes a detailed furniture plan, preliminary selections of
materials, furnishings, fabrics and color scheme. We will review these selections with you
and after approval we will prepare a written specification. At this point all you have to do is
sit back, relax and watch the room of your dreams take shape. How involved will I have to be in this process?
As much or as little as you’d like. With that said we value our clients’ ideas and input which
ensures that the space will reflect their style and lifestyle. We will present you with great
choices and options, make recommendations and guide you through decisions while educating
you in the process. We strive to make the process simple and fun for our clients. We do all
the work and take care of all the details.
How do I get started?
The first step is to gather all your favorite design ideas, colors and style preferences.
Perhaps you have been collecting design magazines and books. Determine the feel and
function you would like for the room. Discuss your ideas with your spouse or any other
decision makers. It also helps to determine the budget and time frame for completion. Feel free
to communicate your ideas and preferences during our visit.
